Inside the Checkmate
This is the second of my Checkmates. The first is on permanent
duty with parnet to the A2000. That machine has the MegaChip and
the external SCSI drive and 590 plus the 5.25" floppy. Great bit
of kit.
This Checkmate was given to me by a guy emigrating to Australia.
It comes in its original box but excludes the keyboard. Sadly it
is a bit tricky without the keyboard. For those that don't know
the Checkmate is basically an A500 inside a metal case. The
keyboard from the A500 should also be in a metal case, but outside
of the main case. For those familiar with the 500 keyboard you
will know it also has a bag full of electronics and that isn't
provided in say a 2000 keyboard.
Great unit this and I'll let the pictures do the talking. The
machine works without fault. The mb is a Revision 5 so quite old.
There is a modest RAM card installed. Don't worry about the eject
button from the floppy. Always like that when in store. I removed
to avoid getting bashed off. Just clicks back into position.
What !!! No signatures ?
