ScuzzBlog: Diaries April 2018 Entry 21st April 2018: Post: 4 On her last legs - Forty years on My camera tripod finally expired. The handle that controlled the extending pole broke off and worse it jammed into the mechanism causing the whole thing to lock up. And to think that this tripod had spent over forty years in active service aiding my photography even before I went to School of Architecture in 1978. It kinda brought a tear to me eye as I placed her in her bag for the last time. Suffice to say I had to get a replacement and the new tripod arrived today. So funny. The very old forty plus years of age broken camera tripod Model Revue EX-3 With locked and broken stem Enter the new tripod that arrived today... and guess what. Forty years on I found a new Revue EX-3 How wicked is that The exact same model.. only brand new The tripod has never been used In true scuzz fashion I decide to check the tripod with all my old cameras.. which I still have. Starting with my Zenit from around 1976 College days and the Cosina Video era of 1989-93 plus my scanning years on the Amiga with the SONY HandyCam. This camera cost me £1000 The Epson PC650Z.. simply the best camera I have ever owned. I built the website using this wonderful camera Sadly she broke.. worn out I did source an alternative The very useless Lumix And the current Cannon ' BORG ' with busted front lens cover that got destroyed by an Amiga 1000 Note how crap the picture is taken with the Lumix. Dreadful camera So what were the chances some forty years on of finding the very same tripod on Ebay... Incredible !!! Good to go for another forty years now
