ScuzzBlog: Diaries April 2020
Entry 23rd April 2020: Post 01: Amiga Game - Lorna artwork.
Amiga Game - Lorna artwork.
I do know that the game Lorna released in 1990 was based on the
comic book by Alfonso Azpiri. And so when artwork for the game
was recently auctioned on Ebay I was intrigued as to whether the
art was for the comic, game, manual or none of these. The art does
look genuine and having studied the line-work I am convinced it is
the same author. I have to say that for a computer game of this
period [ 1990 ] I was quite impressed with the quality of the
female animation.
I have included some images from the auction* which I did not bid.
Sadly I can't even find the game anywhere. I do have a copy from
the dubious Amiga disk collection, which appears to be a cracked
version and very kindly gives infinite amounts of everything.
[*Ebay seller Abuelon Retro Video Games 80s Shop .. go check it out ]
The manual and box scans plus the disk image are from EAB so on
the old borrowing images from other sources I am going to hell.
I just find mysteries like these quite fascinating. Added to the
fact it feeds my gaming interest... i.e. chicks in video games.
The game isn't that good and is kinda very straightforward albeit
I was having to press the game pad frantically to get Lorna to
do anything. She does move very well and works more like a paper/
cell animation, hand drawn than a computer created figure.
And so credit where credit due ... Original idea Alfonso and Jorge
Azpiri. Program was by Agustin Guillen. Graphics by Alfonso Azpiri.
And was released in 1990 by TOPO SOFT. The game is Spanish and
believe me .... very very rare. I just want the box art and manual.
There you have it sexy Lorna. I would like to see more of the
artwork. She does appear from time to time on Deviant Art still.
[ My goodness ... absolute zero original work here. Bad boy ]
A big thank you to Alfonso Azpiri.
