Entry 24th April 2020: Post 02: Amiga Shopper - The year is 1995.
Amiga Shopper - The year is 1995.
If your were a serious user of the Amiga you would buy Amiga Shopper.
The focus of the magazine was most definitely of a more in depth
nature. For me I rarely bought the magazine in the early days cus
I didn't like the paper quality and it just wasn't dazzling enough.
However in the latter years I migrated over to Shopper and Amiga
Computing as I really needed more detailed information on stuff.
And so to 1995 and the year of the feature in Blog 1 for today.
Whilst I had collected a good number of Shoppers, I was lucky to
have purchased a full set plus all the disks and subscribers disks
from Paul Q over at Amiga_SA. Paul was one of those guys that was
a hardened Amiga enthusiast but like so many let his beloved
tower go to another user. I did plead with him at the time but
he was adamant it was time to move on and he couldn't bear to
have his old kit around [ Something I have never understood ].
So when I was going through the magazines finding Issue 54
I found the whole years worth plus the disks no problem. And so
took pictures of the covers. Shopper was a great resource for
other publications and these were always on offer from the
pages of the magazine.
One final comment, and if you look at the Christmas edition it
looks as though we had a virus problem even back then. Which
kinda brings the reason behind the original blog into focus. So
to all of you out there ... 'Watch your six and stay frostie '.
Amiga Shopper - The year is 1995.
I waited so long for this AMOS extension.
I bought mine from AmigaNuts PD house.
You haven't lived until you
have tried Dr.T's Boombox.
This is not from 1995 but from 1993
and is the very first Amiga Shopper
that I ever purchased. Classic cover.
