Entry 5th August 2019: Post 02: Amiga Tower - Ez does it.
Amiga Tower - Ez does it.
So I recovered the EZ-Tower empty box and set about giving it a
bit of a clean. The unit has stood idle for like over a decade and
has no power supply or internal motherboard or anything in truth.
The tower appears to be modified for use with an A4000. The connector
for the keyboard is the A4000 type and there is a blanking plate
at the head of the motherboard edge slot to suit the 4000 mb.
I decided that the way to check if the power was feeding the tower
was to simply hook up the two large fans at the head of the unit.
This worked without fault and so I pulled a 1200 motherboard to
check. This is when I noticed the slot edge wasn't suited to the
height of the 1200.
Next up I need to put together some hard drives, buffered interface,
CD-ROM and scan-doubler flicker fixer. The sockets for video and
keyboard are already in place and the tower has a sound box to
connect to the motherboard.
Problem I have now is getting a spare A1200 motherboard or simply
pay to get this busted one fixed.
What to do ?
