Not necessarily the C64C but the C64 range of machines. Time was that Commodore knew exactly what they were doing and the C64C epitomizes a computer most definitely fit for purpose. I do like the C64C and whenever I set this machine up I get lost for hours. I always grab Simon's BASIC and GEOS plus the mouse and with the 1571 disk drive I am away. Never a dull moment. So easy to use and byte for byte the most value you could ever get out of a computer. The style of this machine is exquisite and a joy to behold. It is of a size that fits well on any desktop and so easy to move around. I do hope that over the last few days I have been able to show that with just a little tender care and the most modest of housekeeping you can maintain older machines in near pristine condition. There really is no need to hack, slash and pimp out your old kit. You certainly don't need to attack them with nasty chemicals. The C64C shows just how easy it is to have a thing of beauty that will last for ever. I keep this computer at the ready propped up behind a BBC covered in a few sheets of tissue. Magic computer. Anyhoo that was the Commodore C64C from 1987 running Commodore BASIC V2.0 using the 6510A CPU. Famous for the VIC II and SID. You seriously cannot go wrong with this computer.
