The very splendid Toshiba MSX HX-10 .. again
Going through the batch of computers I recovered from my recent
retro spelunking expedition to find the lost TRS-80 and today we
have the Toshiba that I set aside. I already know the computer is
working as I tried this out on the day. However, as I have fond
memories of mucking around on the computer about ten years ago,
which is when it last saw the light of day, I decided to give her
a bit of a clean and a gallery show.
Most enjoyable.
Toshiba HX-10 with full QWERTY mechanical keyboard
Runs a Z80A at 3.6 Mhz
Video display uses a TMS 9929A
Has 64KB RAM which leaves around 30KB for general use
VRAM is 16KB and ROM is 32KB
Colours are 16 and sound General Innstruments AY-3-8910
Has two joystick ports and 1 cartridge slot
Tape recorder cassette socket.
Very useful composite Video socket
Centronics interface, RF for TV and an expansion bus
Uses MSX DOS MSX System Version 1.0 Copyright Microsoft 1983
The power supply is built in and cable hard wired
Interesting that the CPC464 has the same colours to the odd keys as this machine.
This last ROM application requires the
keyboard added to the interface that
came with the Yamaha. Really just shows
that MSX was interchangable on all MSX's
