The day the 'Bubble' burst
Difficult to say when I stopped using a printer at home. Probably
around mid 1995. This Canon Bubblejet did use to occupy an important
place on the Amiga work desk. I recall the noise the printer made
each time I fired up the computer. I even had a replacement cartridge
for the unit, waiting. And then one day I just stopped using paper.
The poor thing was put in the bottom of a drawer and it has been
there ever since.
Strange that the printer has discoloured in the time. She did use to
be purest white. The sticky tape has been there since new. I just
never took the tape off. Kinda sad in many ways. She was a good friend.
I nearly didn't feature the printer today. I was a touch saddened by
how she looks now. My last recollection was of a pure white pristine
case. How the years have weathered the printer.
Great size and so easy to use. I loved the way the printer could stand
vertical. Was such a space saver. The print quality was brilliant. It's
just that I gave up with paper in the mid nineties. Never really saw
the point in printing stuff I could read on a computer. Also became
way easier to send the written word over the internet.
