Entry 6th December 2018: Post 02: Amiga - Blizzard PPC
Amiga - Blizzard PPC
This is the Blizzard PPC as made by Phase5 known as the 603e using
the PowerPC 603e which was a low end processor at 160,230 or 240 MHz.
Also on the board is the 68040 or 68LC040 at 25 MHz. There are two
72 pin SIMM sockets for 256 MB RAM 32 bit wide. It has an Ultra
Wide SCSI controller and expansion slot for the BlizzardVision PPC.
It also has a fan, a heat sink, some red tape and a battery. And
also ' it don't work '. Came with my tower and I have tried and
tried and tried so many times. But it don't work.
Was supposed to be the saviour of the Amiga in 1997 when in fact all
it did was jack so many defenceless poor Amiga motherboards into
towers so destroying the original Amigas forever. So sad.
