Bit of a departure this for me. I found this tape from Dixons with
a program called Music Player on it. The C64 version is called
Music Maker and uses the keyboard on the 'breadbin' . I had the
C64C set up which is less than ideal for the keyboard but worked
all the same.
In no time I was pumping away at the keys making dreadful noises
and quite enjoying the simple but effective software. I decided
to grab my Olympus voice recorder and make some very basic
recordings to demonstrate the sounds from the software. I simply
left the recorder in front of the TV so its not HD quality.
Having successfully used the software I also loaded up the actual
C64 software that came with the keyboard. That I recorded also.
I was so keen not to lose the tape to possible future damage I
went on the hunt to Ebay to see if I could source a tape copying
bit of kit for the C64. I managed to buy a connector that plugs
into the C64 and two datasettes so wish me luck. Just waiting now.
So below I have provided four very crude recordings made today.
Three with the Dixons Music Player and one with Music Maker.
Crude recordings of my endeavours today
Me bashing the keyboard [ Dixons Music Player ]
One I made earlier .. NOT !! [ Dixons Music Player ]
Variation on the same theme [ Dixons Music Player ]
Getting busy with the actual Music Maker [ Commodore Music Maker ]
I did do a version of Bohemian Rhapsody but it was kinda too long.
I discovered today that one of my 'breadbuckets' doesn't play any sound.
And so that started yet another project ... Read on.
