Entry 10th December 2018: Post 03: Commodore C64 - Putting the bread away
Commodore C64 - Putting the bread away.
OK I really didn't have any time left last night to put things
away after I had removed the SID from one C64 and put it in the
other. I also wanted to give the newly refurbished C64 a good
clean and add the label setting out what I had done.
And so to today and I spent some time rebuilding the stripped
down C64 so I could put it back in store. I then set too cleaning
the other C64 and putting the label on the base.
I decided to call the C64 Carol as she did indeed sing at XMAS
what with the replaced SID chip. I then hooked her up to a tape
datasette and the 1541 5.25" for a celebratory muck around just
to check all was working. Ended with a bit of festive fun with
the Commodore Very First demo tape.... Ho Ho Ho !! And all that.
So I have yet another Commodore singing sweet this December. What
more really could you ask as a present. Don't worry, I am already
on the case with trying to get the other working. First though I
have a Spectrum 48K and Spectrum+ waiting on the bench for repair.
And the fun never ends. Happy days.
Commodore C64 - Back in the breadbin
First I needed to put the old breadbin back together.
And so to the C64 called Carol
She now has a sweet voice thanks to SID.
