Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing! On the Amiga.
It wasn't unusual in the day to have a piece of Amiga software
that was not only educational and informative, but also designed
to specifically let the user have fun. Mavis Beacon is not just
a great educational tool but also a fun bit of software that
entertains as well as teaching you a skill.
I appreciate why many download stuff off the internet but with
the boxed software you get so much more. The manual is a hoot
and a half, what with the history of the typewriter and the
articles about the society girl. When you get the whole package
you certainly appreciate the humour of the author and ease at
which you are placed when using the guide and software.
I am steadily going through a number of boxes of software and
backing up where I can for safe-keeping. Every so often though
I get distracted by the software itself, and certainly this
typing tutor had me punching the keys for quite a while. Amazing.
