Entry 20th December 2025: Post 1: Amiga game Caesar - Veni Vidi Vici.

Amiga game Caesar - Veni Vidi Vici.

Funny retro moment today as I puzzled over why I couldn't get my
Caesar game to work or find another disk from my games library.
Anyway, eventually I discovered that probably throughout my life
I have always spelt Caesar as 'Ceasar'. Consequently my search for
the disk did not find an entry and the game wouldn't launch cus
I spelt it wrong.

That's all I wanted to say really. As you know I don't play retro
games so if you want a review I suggest playing the Amiga Format
demo from Oct 1992 or reading the review in the December edition.
Looks a bit Civ on the face of it.

Interesting that in the box I had the receipt for 5th April 2005
in the sum of 1.99. Checking on Ebay today the game is generally
around 30 quid with one at 20 quid and another at 80 quid. At
prices like that today I certainly would have ever built up my
collection. As a one disk game and to be honest nothing special
you need to be a keen collector of games to pay out those prices.
The game , I doubt, was even that price when new.

When I find games boxes that for what ever reason I have left the
disk and contents in the box I do like to check if the disk is
working. In this instance the disk booted just fine. It was also
visible on the Workbench so I made an ADF copy of the game. I'm
just about done checking over the games boxes so not planning on
featuring any others.

Onward.
