ScuzzBlog: Diaries February 2022
Entry 14th February 2022: Post 1: Final Writer Update - amiga-news.
Final Writer Update - amiga-news.
I was reading this week from the pages of amiga-news.de an update
on Final Writer which appears to have AROS and MorphOS versions.
I have a snapshot of the page below which should give enough info
for you to find the details of the news.
For my part I have always been a fan of Softwood. I fell in love
with their database software and bought a number of products from
them over the years. Whilst I never purchased the full version of
Final Writer I did buy the Lite version which came with the very
thick manual for the full version. Later on I acquired a full
version of Final Copy II plus Final Data. I already had in the
collection PenPal by the same author.
The interface with any Softwood product is super friendly and so
easy to use. The only down side I found with the software was the
actual type face fonts. But I never really cared much. For me the
issue of word processing was always a toss up between Final Writer
or Wordworth. Just depended on which I clicked first.
I do hope that the product name lives on into the future. So much
Amiga based software died with Commodore, and they really deserved
better. Some stayed loyal and so live on later into the years.
Anyhoo, some images for you to digest. I seem to have a full copy
of Final Writer from one of my many acquisitions over the years.
In truth I have quite a few copies of the software. The Lite
version also appears on Amiga format 82A. Well worth hunting down.
Inside the very thick manual I discovered a copy of the instructions
for Operation Stealth, which I will discuss tomorrow.
Happy days... I'm feeling a little naughty today as I treated myself
to two consoles which are winging their way from Ebay.
What am I like ? Bonkers.
