The January 1992 edition of CU Amiga was very optimistic about the future of the Amiga. I have been flicking through this magazine a lot and it always fills me with such a feeling of promise. That really was the joy of the Amiga, always the next best thing on the horizon and that feeling of 'promise' of way better things to come. And so I couldn't resist picturing a few of the pages and reflecting on the 30 years since this magazine edition was published. It is always a bit dis-concerting when you have to count up on your fingers the decades that have passed since something was published. So yes it has been thirty years. The question is was the optimism of the early nineties well founded, or have we failed to attain the promise of that generation. Included with today's blog I include the cover disks for you to download. I did try the ADF images on the emulator and they seemed fine. I also ran them on the A1200 and they were working. The first disk offers a couple of game demos and the second some utilities. This format was pretty much bread and butter for CU all the way to the end of publication. Just an incredible magazine at the best of time and January 1992 was no exception. I do like the image of the family in front of the TV.
