Over the years I have tried to acquire most of the more popular Amiga software in its original box. It has always been important to me to have the complete package. I recall my early days with the Amiga visiting the local Amiga store and joying at the box art and contents. So whenever I got one of these wonderful boxes it was stored in pride of place on a series of shelves that sat in front of the Amiga table. Building my collection of boxed games and software added real colour to my Amiga world as often the boxes were richly decorated. That was the Amiga way. It has always been somewhat of a disappointment to me to have software and the books without the boxes. I have a shelf unit here that is obscured by two Amiga 2000s and an Amstrad making it difficult to remove the software that is simply the books plus often the disks inside. The software often was simply a cover disk that I purchased the book for through the magazine. Sometimes I had to hunt down software for the given books. I could separate the disks from the books but that makes for a less than satisfactory procedure when using said software. And that is why the boxes are so useful. They not only stack better but allow for other things to be placed in the boxes. For today's little feature I grabbed a fist full of books complete with their disks to show the types of software that I have without the boxes. Not ideal, but hey. Better that than not have the disks or books. The one here that I truly love is Wizard Software The Beginner's Guide to AmigaDOS. For a small book it really has been so useful. I haven't bothered too much with the disk, but the pages have saved my life a few times. The Disk Magazine Creator was a gift from a friend in Scotland.
