CU Amiga - GOBSMACKING November 1992

If there is one reoccurring theme from all that I say it will relate
to the joy of what I call 'conventional sources'. In that I mean
proper publications, real computers and hard data. To quote
The Osmonds of all people ' .. give me love. Not a facsimile of '.
What that means in simple terms is the joy of thumbing through
real paper, firing up a real computer, and using software from
physical disks created by the originating author or publisher.
The experience is the most fulfilling, rewarding and for me....

Honest

I love the years of the computer evolution from say 1981 through to 1993. Sadly it all kinda went into melt down in the Spring of 1994 with the demise of Commodore. Nothing has been the same since and the world of the printed and published work of truly original quality has all but disappeared. So what am I talking about. Simplest way to demonstrate this is to let the camera capture my eyes as I flick though a copy of CU Amiga for November 1992, probably the last of the most richest of times and the very summit of the computer years. To a time when there was real physical substance to all that you used and enjoyed. It is difficult for anyone that resides in the carbon copying, trading card, social media, self actualising world of today's mobile phone community, to appreciate what it was like to actually interact with the tangible, and to gain reward from the physical activity of 'real doings' rather than the emulating of such. Just saying ....
