Entry 15th July 2018: Post 01: TRS-80 Color Computer 1
TRS-80 Color Computer 1
TRS-80 Color Computer 1 made by the Tandy Corporation
Uses Color BASIC 1.0/2.0/)S-9
Running on a Motorola 6809E at 0.895 MHz
This machine was sometimes called the CoCo first produced in 1980.
The computer was a departure from the earlier models choosing to
utilise the Motorola 6809E processor rather than the Zilog Z80.
The bigger issue is that the computer is not compatible with the
software of the earlier models.
The earlier versions of the computer had the label to the left side
and the RAM badge on the case. Mine still has the black surround to
the keyboard but the badge is central. The keyboard is a calculator
style 'chiclet keyboard'. Color BASIC is provided by Microsoft. The
computer uses a TV for display.
Interestingly the 80 in TRS-80 relates to the Zilog Z80 even though
this computer does not utilise that.

Its a new day and a new camera...
I decided not to clean the keyboard
without first investigating what the
material is. Back in store now.
