I recently had a request for copies of disks from the actual guy
that ran the Amiga PD house BestB4 Amiga PD. Sadly I only have a
dozen disks from the house, though all the same it was great to
get a mail from the guy.
In the day the Amiga magazines were littered with pages of the
incredibly small print adverts for endless disks. Even the other
night in here I was struggling to read the very small text. Like
you need a magnifying glass. The point being that from a simple
list it is impossible to establish just what the worth of any disk
is. I rarely bought PD disks as I would prefer to buy full games
and full boxed software packages.
My daily trip to my half dozen Amiga shop vendors was a great
activity, cus I not only got to chat with fellow Amigans but also
was advised of upcoming releases and even had the chance to play
with stuff. PD was kinda limited to the plastic jewel cased
disks that sat in big store shelves to the sides of main counters.
I did read the articles in the magazines and if recommended I
would buy the odd thing. Star Trek Game and Data come to mind
along with ProTracker MODS and samples.
So when I get asked how many PD disks I have, I guess I have at
most a dozen to two dozen of the more well known houses. I did
collect as many as I found for a while, but there was no way
I was like ever going to make a dent in the catalogue for
any house. So to anyone trying to build a collection up I wish
them luck, cus I have no idea how anyone would acquire the disks.
Also with current silly prices on Ebay for even a single disk
it is going to cost a fortune..
As to the quality of content, and whether it was worthwhile.
Well I will let you be the judge. For me I rarely look at
PD disks unless they are essential tools. Getting hold of the
17BiT collections on CD appears to be the best bet as they
are referenced and easy to de-crunch when you need them.
Sadly I am unable to share any disks from my collection. I am
not going to explain why again as the site carries a full
explanation and I am unable to break my simple rules.

I have to say I still use Address book on the Amiga.

Again sorry for the poor quality
