Amiga Action - A1500 Beyond and Within.
It always amazes me how often I find stuff that I've been looking
for when not searching for it. The last few days I have been going
through my old drives of Amiga data and came across a full PDF set
of Amiga Action. A while back I was trying to establish the period
that the Amiga 1500 Expansion System was released but could find
nothing in any publication. Well blow me if almost the first PDF
I opened didn't feature the A1500 by A1500 Ltd.
The date was 17th February 1991 and this predates The Checkmate.
The later version was based almost entirely on the earlier A1500.
The case cost two hundred quid which is also the first time I
have seen a price for the kit.
Whilst reading the magazine I also found an advert for the WTS
Electronics upgrade card for the A500 that gave also an option for
ChipMem. I was trying to find out the name of this card a few weeks
ago and now I know.
The magazine had the usual plethora of games reviews and amongst
them were a few games I had not seen before. The first was the
Druidic board game based on the 'Rule of Four' involving concepts
as deep as 'The Beyond' and 'The Within'. My goodness games did use
to be a little more involved than just killing stuff. I gotta say
it was kinda difficult to get into but after a while I was flying.
The games is called Ishido .
Two other games I noted for further investigation was the Chips
Challenge and Murders in Space. I liked the look of that last one.
I couldn't resist showing the iconic image of Total Recall.
Anyhoo it's been a touch hectic of late what with the election and
all that. I also have been a little preoccupied with the footy.
Tomorrow is a big game for the Three Lions, and I was reminded of
the passion of English football with this image of Gazza and his
tears during the 1990 World Cup.
Finally I am still very much hooked on my Tensor Art and so leave
you with a couple more of my creations of WaterWorld - Mechacity.
I have built up quite a vast library of images now. Great fun.
