Entry 09th July 2024: Post 1: scuzz collection - an AI extravaganza

scuzz collection - an AI extravaganza.

It may be tricky these days finding the space and affording the
cost of a retro computer collection. Have no fear, AI is here. I
had a bit of a giggle last night at the expense of Tensor Art in
using their image generator to create pictures of my most beloved
computers. So I set too inserting prompts for my machines and out
popped the pictures below.

I doubt you will recognise any of the beasts, though the KIM came
out closest. The images are degraded somewhat cus the prompts
reacted to the word 'scuzz' which can be less than complementary and
also has its name grounded in the metal satellite channel of old.

Nonetheless I have to say I found the pictures most amusing and
very colourful. The very black and white image is of the Jupiter
Ace and although the machine is obviously incorrect it did know
that the colour was black and white.

Amazingly the generator managed to get a lot of the names right
and even featured scuzz on most computers. Incredible.

I have tracked even more images of retro gear in Stellar Blade on
the PS5. It's fascinating how retro computers have a universal
appeal when trying to conjure up a friendly vibe in a retro scene.

Anyhoo, who needs the real stuff when you can AI your own. Sadly
for all the hysterical fear and enthusiasm for AI I remain less
than impressed. I have been trying to train my AI and its been a
painful, annoying, frustrating process, where I seriously wanted
way more control over what was being generated. The thing has a
habit of creating the most illogical load of crap, leaving me to
scream in aghast ' What the fook '.

All good fun though.
