Entry 7th June 2023: Post 1: Computer Rounds - Kickstart the kit.
Computer Rounds - Kickstart the kit.
Bit late I know but given that the days have become decidedly
brighter and warmer I thought I would carry the camera around as
I checked out some of the computers I have switched on at times
during the day.
I start with the retro set that I use for reference purposes and
then move on to the Amigas that I use regularly located in various
places around the house.
I tended to focus on the main screen images as trying to take pics
without the tripod proved a little tricky. The aim being to show
that the computers were all working, which they were. I have also
included later on a few of my past images of the Amigas just for
reference purposes.
Tomorrow I deal with the bigger task of checking my stock of PCs
to assess the current status of the network. I did have to pull
a few wires and cables from circuits earlier this year and it was
time to get the kit back up together. That I do tomorrow.
Anyway all the computers checked with no problems and so that
leaves me nothing major to do with the actual kit over the months
ahead. A lot of the computers actually sit dormant unconnected.
These machines I bring out onto the bench to test. Remembering
that I have like 125 Amigas so it is pretty difficult having them
out and set up all the time.
Last night the power went down here for an hour and my first thought
was ... 'OK what have I done now?' All the lights in the village
go on and off when I put all the kit on. Basically its hooked up
to the town hall clock to charge the DeLorean. Obviously joking,
though does feel like that sometimes.
In all I fired up 14 Amigas today. Happy days.
