Someone was asking about the A2000-HC8-II card for the 2000 and
I thought I would oblige by showing the card. I have a few of
these mostly fitted to A2000s. They really are the easiest way
to get a hard drive on the A1500/2000 basically cus if you have
the double disk drive you wont have the space for a hard drive.
They also give the benefit of an SCSI port which can be useful.
For me to show this A1500 today I first needed to shift the
Amiga 2000HD which was sitting on top of this machine. Useful
to check that she was also working. You may recall that the
other day I featured the internal hard drive and controller
that normally sits in this machine.
The card and drive was donated by a very generous Amigan who
also gave me the Spirit.... What a guy.
One final thought as you view the card and that is I am always
reminded of Piet Mondrian's Broadway Boogie Woogie. 1942-43.
If you know the work of art you will see he used abstract
shapes and colours to reflect the city scape and yellow taxis
of New York. For me the RAM Simms here look like towering
sky scrapers and the chips the taxis below. I do love the
architecture of this card and they are rock solid stable......
Anyway just two machines here and as ever, they are working Amigas.
First the A2000HD - Single floppy
And now the A1500 double floppy drive
running on 3.1 and with a 2.1 Workbench
And a very imaginative one at that
