Amiga computers - All over the place!
With over 125 Amiga computers in the collection it is not surprising
to find Amiga machines littering the house. With the exception of
the kitchen and the bathroom there are Amigas stationed in every
room. And they all have a purpose and a reason for being left out,
as it were.
Here is a quick snapshot ...
Workshop: This is where I spend most of my Amiga days an I have my
most treasured machines set up in a circle so I can spin around and
use the ones I need.
The A500 has the GVP sidecar and runs off the Philips. Next to that
is the A4000/040 with the Amiga archive running a Parnet to the
adjacent A1200. I have two A4000/040s and one has the Picasso/IV.
Next to the A4000 sits the A1200 OS3.9 with ZIP, CD and two SCSI
drives. I create my ADF images here off the A4000 and ZIP them to
the PC or other Amigas. Next up is the A1200 with the GVP JAWSII
and SurfSquirrel that I use as a gaming machine. She uses the
Microvitec monitor. And finally in the Workshop we have my most
treasured A1200 with the Blizzard 1230IV and SCSI kit powering up
ZIP, CD and two external SCSI drives. She has HF floppy and Ethernet.
Lounge:
Sits the Checkmate in its original layout as found when I purchased
it. She has the MegaChip and ROM switcher running with A590 and
an external SCSI drive. Next to her sits an A2000 with GVP drive.
I also maintain my A500 ViperCD from this location just to keep
the hard drive internally sweet.
Across the room and next to a cluster of networked PCs is another
A2000, or should I say A1500. She has a drive inside that was gifted
to me by another Amigan. It is used to test and check disks in
that location.
Box Room or Disk Room:
In the box room I have all the games and disks located and have an
A500 with an A590 side car which I use to for testing older games.
Next to this machine is the EZ Tower which is very useful in the
disk room what with CD, ZIP and high density floppy drive for
checking over disks and copying them.
I have another A500 Plus on swap out duty here with a ROM switcher.
Main Upper Room:
I have a hill of computers here that get hammered with disks I use
in this area and I need the full range to be honest. So off the same
monitor I have the A600, A500 with A590 running 3.1 and an A1000
sitting below. There is another A500 Plus lower down on swap out.
Finally in the pile is an A1200 mounted inside an A2000 case that
I use for checking over 3.5" IDE drives. Meet 'Graham'. Don't ask.
To the other side of the room is an A1200 with SCSI external drive
and 5.25 inch floppy drive. Under the A1200 is an A1000 connected
to an A1060 sidecar. I use this machine with the PC emulator.
This Room my main PC Room:
The room is littered with various Amigas including the towers and
A4000 and A3000 but the main machine is the Amiga Technologies
A1200 with the GVP JAWS II and the Surf Squirrel. I use this machine
a lot as she generates most of my ADF files.
Short but sweet but that represents the team. I've included the
snapshots below for reference. The arrangement does vary at times
and I also have a number of machines connected that I run just
to make sure the hard drives are working.
Happy days.
