I am always on the look out for traditional Amiga monitors. They
are like gold dust to be honest. So imagine my joy today when I
uncovered a 1084S whilst looking for another black monitor. Today
I started looking for an Apricot monitor, found a Spectrum black
monitor which then lead me to the 1084S which I had thought was
the Spectrum Pro Series monitor. I had forgotten I had one of
these.
I had thought this was just a standard 1084S that someone had
painted. It came with my CDTV set and I never gave it another
thought. It was placed at the base of a tall set of shelves
behind a whole load of other stuff. In my mind the monitor that
was stored there was the Sinclair until I found that today in
another location.
Having dug out the monitor and checked it to be working I
discovered on its rear that the label stated that it was the
black version. And so this monitor has always been black and
from the evidence of paintwork on the vent slots you can see
that the black goes right the way through. Odd though that the
control area to the drop down on the front is the old beige
white colour. Those that I have seen elsewhere were all black.
The monitor has lost its front label. May try to source another.
Worst case I will make my own.
I will feature the CDTV of which I have a few in a later blog.
In truth not one of my favourite machines as I really don't
view the CDTV as a computer. More a CD player with video.

Two more CDTV's to add to the collection and this time
one in the original blue red Commodore box
