I have to say that moving this kit around is a real struggle.
I have no idea why they are called luggable.. would take months
of weight training to make carrying around no problem.
Most of these machines have the side expansion which is a really
clever design. To remove you have to pull out the bottom locking
strip and then simply rotate the unit away from the computer.
So easy to plug in and out and a great way to add components.
Compaq Portable III made in the USA around 1987
Has 92 keys and 12 function keys
Uses the Intel 80286 running at 12 MHz
RAM is 640 Kb up to 2 Mb with 16 Kb ROM
The screen is a monochrome orange colour
The OS is MS-DOS 3.1
And sadly its a Compaq and without the disks is dead in the water.
