ScuzzBlog: Diaries May 2018 Entry 11th May 2018: Post: 2 Bandai PiPPin - an Apple of a Console Apple Pippin OK so to answer the question did Apple ever make a console I would say no. Did Apple ever develop a platform that could be used with a games console then the answer to that would be yes. The 'open media technology platform' known as PiPP!n was created by Apple and was based on the Apple Macintosh platform and included the classic Mac OS. The technology was licensed to Bandai who developed the ATMARK and ATWORLD models mostly in the US and Japan. Clear as mud and released in 1996. Managed to sell 42000 units. That's about it really... Pretty uninspiring. I couldn't be bothered dragging the box down to photograph again so I used my pics from the last time. Just that I was having too much fun on the 3DO and I didn't want to have to put that away... just yet. Bandai PiPPin Atmark
