Entry 31st May 2019: Post 01: Amiga World - AGFA IntelliFonts
Amiga World - AGFA IntelliFonts
I recently responded to a post on one of the Amiga Forums relating
to a special fonts pack featured in Amiga World. I do not have the
pack in question which appeared in a feature on a page featuring
Final Writer II Volume 8 Number 5 for May 1992. I said at the time
I would put a few pics of the magazine on the blog for reference.
Interestingly Final Writer does not support the fonts included in
the package and I commented that I tend to use Wordworth. The guy
responded that Final Copy or Final Writer make use of any kerning
information. He was pointing out the deficiencies of the actual
fonts provided by workbench.
My response ...
The advert was featured as part of the article on Final Copy for
Amiga World Volume 8 Number 5 for May 1992. The new OS made Intellifonts
possible. AgfaFonts became generally available with Digita Wordworth
and V2 has disks of the fonts. I would have to dig out my Final Copy
II box to see if any were also included.
The magazine has a DTP feature but I guess circling 51 on the Readers
Service card isn't going to do anything now.
Interestingly the pack was available on an American Ebay auction.
I was tempted to dig out my copy of Final Writer II but discovered
from my records it is in a tub deep below a lot of boxes. Interestingly
in the tub above is the KIM-I which I have been threatening to
feature along with the 3000T that sits in front, which have illuded
the blogs.
No chance.
