ScuzzBlog: Diaries May 2026 Entry 22nd May 2026: Post 1: Amiga game - Banshee by Core. Amiga game - Banshee by Core. Banshee concludes my little feature on saving your Amiga games boxes and again it is a game by Core. Without doubt one of the most classic games for the Amiga and a game that was a perfect fit for the platform. You always can tell a good game from how easily it is to simply get on with it without having to refer to the manual. To be honest I doubt I have ever referred to the manual. I have tried to treasure the box over the years and stored the disks in their plastic sleeves in a disk box. The manual is pretty lightweight though concise in its descriptive. Few games other than say Uridium of this type were essential playtime for the Amiga. The simplicity at which you could fire up the game and just have a blast just made it so easy to enjoy. The artwork makes the games so enjoyable and the ease of movement and targeting mobs/rewards and upgrades just keeps you hooked without being in any way overwhelming. The designers really did get the balance just right between difficulty and entertainment value. I do love this game and would have no problem playing even today. I truly love the steampunk theme and colours. Smacking drops till you trigger the one you want, whilst fighting off enemy attacks, makes for a truly entertaining experience. So there you have it. Good reason to look after your boxes. I mean the artwork by Core on this game is truly spectacular. Anyhoo... the box is safely back on the shelf and disks packed away. Happy days !!
