Entry 06th November 2024: Post 1: Amiga A590 - DIP Switches.

Amiga A590 - DIP Switches.

To the rear of the Amiga A590 sidecar are four DIP switches. The
up position indicates that the switch is on. The first switch is
for the boot selection and for 1.3 onwards it should be in the
on position. It doesn't seem to matter with WB1.2.

The second switch is for selecting the Unit No on an external
drive. It follows without anything plugged into the SCSI this can
stay in the off position.

The third switch provides a time delay if necessary on some drives.
So generally it stays off.

The fourth is like a spare and reserved for future use. So off.

I do have an A590 that appears to have been wired incorrectly as
the first DIP has to be in the off position and the rest in the
on position for it to work.
