Entry 23rd November 2024: Post 1: Will this wind.
Will this wind.
I have been having problems with this Samsung monitor that I use
with this computer. I have been using the monitor as a drawing
light table tracing some old art work. I have no love for the heat
and have it deliberately switched off in here. So day before
yesterday I switched on the monitor and nothing. I do have a
replacement and was in the middle of transferring the monitor and
just checked again and she came on. Yesterday the same thing
happened again. This time I did the old hair dryer trick and gave
her a warm, and sure enough she came back on. Signs of a capacitor
going dry. On that I checked the temp and discovered it was only
10 degrees C in here. Can't say I had noticed. I did notice a fresh
fall of snow on the garden as I was cleaning up the leaves the
other day. Suffice to say I put the heating on and she was fine
today.
I would be really lost without this type of monitor given that I
can pretty much plug anything into the back of it.
Anyhoo, no retro at the moment as it's gotten quite windy. The 'Will
this wind' refers to Rowan Atkinson and the Secret Policeman's Ball.
Will this wind.
