Amiga Shopper - Cover disks evolved.
I was rather disappointed to discover that my only actual disk
for Distant Suns had sadly been copied over. The disk contents
had been replaced with Volume X of Amiga Shopper for April 1994.
Never mind.
This got me thinking as to why Amiga Shopper numbered their disks
originally one through to ten, or I to X. They certainly did not
include a cover disk each and every month. It also took till the
March of 1995 Vol 47 to evolve the disk format into the arrangement
that became their standard.
So how did the disks evolve and what was the frequency of release.
Nothing for it but to drag out all my Amiga Shopper mags from the
January of 1993 to March 95 Issues 21 through to 47 and see just
what was going on.
For those that didn't know Amiga Shopper was published by Future
as part of the Amiga Format house. Sadly they used very poor
quality paper, not dissimilar to newspaper which faded very fast.
The magazine was well known for providing technical articles of
a more detailed nature as opposed to that of say a more gaming
style magazine.
The first ten disks were actually Shareware Collections from PD
disks I guess. These span from Jan 93 to April 94. Following
that they released a series of subscribers disks and only really
issued what you could call a standard style cover disk from the
March of 1995.
This is a list of the Issues 21 to 47 publications.

That completed the shareware collections.

Mar 95 Issue 47 First standard set of two cover disks plus subscribers.
All Shopper disks from this point carry the same number as the
edition of the magazine. Job done. Shopper disks evolved ...
