Amiga Bootblock - How to put the boot in.
As part of my guide on how to create a self booting disk suitable
for use as a basic Workbench disk, today I was going to explain
the terms bootblack and rootblock. Fortunately I found this wonderful
article by Jolyon Ralph in Amiga Computing July 90 that did the job
much better than I ever could.
The article is part of the series on the 'Code Clinic' which the
accompanying cover disk simply points you back to the magazine for
guidance. The disk offers very little other than to let you play
'MiniBlast' which is quite cute.
I have covered the bootblock in previous blogs if you search the
index. This article was more about the structure of a basic Amiga
DD disk and how it recognises the basic structure of the disk and
the location of the bootblock.
The cover disk is Number 9 if you are interested and I assume you
can download that from EAB Magazine Rack.
